We're going to be different about this... imagine that!
Chet and I have decided that in lieu of a bridal party, we are going to just celebrate the awesomeness that all of our friends are.
We want to make it clear that this is not everyone. There are other people like our parents, Charlotte, the Michiginians -- who are all amazing friends, and we don't know what we would do without them, but there isn't enough room to write about everyone. These people make us laugh when we need it the most, and are there for us for our celebrations and our heartbreaks. We look forward to their support as we enter into this new phase of our life.
Nicole's Bridal Brigade:
Ashton Mouton
Ashton has become a dear friend to Nicole, in just a short amount of time. The joke is that she followed Nicole and Chet home one night and the relationship just grew. They freaked out over the GRE together, picked graduate schools, and started planning Nicole’s wedding long before the ring was on her finger. Nicole can’t wait to have her up there and see what’s in store next!
Lindsey Speights
Lindsey (or L2 as she has been called) is one of Nicole's first college friends. They met at ACC And found out that they worked for the same school, which led to many conversations in the parking lot of ACC, Summit, and Sonic, which are some of the best conversations Nicole has had. More recently, they've enjoyed wedding planning, messing with Doug and Chet and just all in all laughing when they get to hang out (which is never enough). Nicole is glad to have someone like her.
Lindsey Smith
Lindsey and Nicole met in high school. They hit it off almost immediately, well, okay, not really. They have actually had arguments as to when they started school together, but whatever. They made it through high school and then college together, and Nicole is excited to have her by her side.
Jessica Holland
Nicole isn’t quite sure how she and Jessica hit it off – they are opposites of the extreme in most ways, but love each other like sisters. They met in Spivey, after Jessica moved in because she couldn’t be away from the coolness that Spivey emits. Nicole is lucky to have a friend like her.
Groom: Chet Gassett
Justin Osborn
Justin is one of Chet's best men. Chet and Justin grew up strangely brother-like, as brother-like as two people seperated by 300 miles can be that is. They're cousins of the closest kind, and spent a lot of time growing up together. They share many memories from the groves of Moss Bluff, or really the pastures and trees behind Chet's parent's house.
Douglas Moore
Douglas is also a best man. Chet couldn't decide whether his best man should be Justin, his best childhood friend, or Doug, his best adulthood friend. After discussing it with Nicole the decision to have two best men was made, and here they stand. Chet inadvertantly became friends with Douglas, because he was trying to get Nicole's attention. They lived in the same dorm at SHSU, and have spent many late nights staring at computer screens cursing their coding. However he would not trade the friendship for anything in the world.
Travis Franks
Chet and Travis accidentally became friends. Chet decided to tag along with Nicole to a conference. Little did he know a big, gruff, stranger would be riding in Kia with them on the long haul up to Denton, Texas. After a drive that seemed to last forever, and a drive through of a terrifying little town known as Hutchins, Texas, Chet and Travis are now great friends.
Kyle Roberts
Kyle is Chet's brother from another mother. They spent a lot of time together throughout high school, and even after. Granted they're both adults now with seperate lives, they catch up as often as possible. It's an honor for Chet to have Kyle still by his side after so many years.
Cade Gassett
Cade is Chet's younger brother. Growing up there weren't any other kids in their neighborhood so they spent all of their time together. The brotherly bond has always been strong. Today they're both adults and growing in their seperate directions but know they'll both always be around for each other.
Chey Gassett
Chey is Chet's youngest brother. They spent the same amount of time growing up in the woods of South East Texas, but now have totally different worlds. Chet loves the city, and Chey is country to the bone. Despite these differences they both enjoy hanging out with each other when Chet is around, and usually don't run out of things to talk about. Chet predicts that Chey will spend most of his life making more money than he can imagine as the age of 16.
