Giving Due Credit
The credit for writing these definitely goes to Nicole. I may have pounded out some extra information and fixed a few minute things, but she is the one who sat down and typed out all of these stories for your enjoyment. If you enjoyed the read please let her know she will feel great about it!
So, we make it to the fateful night of November 19th, 2006. After a weekend of events, like the meeting of his mother, Doug’s first [and last] football game, and a movie in which they were bombarded with questions as to why they wanted to be alone, they went on a walk and decided to make it “official”. In other words, under that cold November sky, with the stars out and autumn leaves descending, they decided to become a couple. After this decision, they immediately went on Thanksgiving break. While this was a bit disappointing for them, it allowed both of them to let the feelings soak in before telling everyone at their dorm.
Once coming back from the break, the news was told and people rejoiced. It was pretty magnificent. Over the next two years, they enjoyed many events and time together some of the best being:
- saying “I love you” for the first time
- spending a spring break with their families around Texas
- spending countless hours texting and calling while Nicole was in Michigan and Chet was working
- a few weekends away from life, like in Nacogdoches
- moving in together with their good friend Doug
- taking ballroom dance classes
- missing Hurricane Ike, and spending that week in San Diego
- and finally, their engagement
